IPDF Mission

IVCA Promoting Diversity Foundation (IPDF) envisions a private equity and venture capital community where all individuals have equal access to opportunities and where unique perspectives are valued and celebrated.

The mission of IPDF is to promote awareness, create programs and support opportunities that lead to a more diverse private equity and venture capital community. We aim to achieve this mission by removing barriers that prevent underrepresented groups from entering and thriving in the industry.

Spotlight on the IVCA Scholar Program

IDPF supports the IVCA Scholar Program, a unique 10-week undergraduate job shadowing program working directly with venture capital or private equity firms as well as attending training sessions with industry professionals.

The program seeks to engage "underrepresented" groups (women & persons of color) in their undergraduate education so that they can better their chances for a position in the industry through training and networking experience. Since its inception in 2007, 94 students have taken part in the program.

Where we’re going

  • IPDF Goals

    • Increase the number of IVCA Scholars from 17 in 2023 to over [50] by 202[6].

    • Increase Alumni engagement and hiring.

    • Increase the number of firms with participation at the IVCA Invitational and other educational programs.

    • Raise over [$150,000] net annually to support programming.

    • Promote relevant third-party research and publish annual metrics on goals and program outcomes.

    • Support related programs and opportunities by organizations that align with IPDF’s mission.

  • Future Programs for Consideration:

    Alumni Accelerator – recruiting preparation and networking opportunities aimed at helping top Scholars earn additional internships and first job in the industry.

    Alumni Leadership Development Program – year-round programs and resources for past participants of the Scholars program.

    Community Engagement - Year-round educational resources and events offered to IVCA Firm.
